About the project

Perfect Drift

Pine, Colorado

In 2025 Freestone Aquatics was approached by one of the Front Range’s premier fishing clubs to identify solutions for bank erosion and overall stream habitat degradation due to erosional forces experienced during high-flow regimes. Over 300’ of streambank were in jeopardy and valuable land was being lost annually. Utilizing proprietary bio-engineering techniques, Freestone Aquatics was able to stabilize the streambank while incorporating fish habitat in the process. This previous troubled streambank location will offer cover for trout and will allow for expansion of the adjacent wetland plant community. Following the bank repair, Freestone Aquatics repaired previously constructed stream habitats, offering additional angling opportunities, which have since become the favorite stream reach for all club members.
