Clint Packo

Clint is a 5th generation Colorado native and comes from a ranching and rodeo family with roots along the front range in Littleton, CO.  Clints great-great-grandfather Frank Wedow was the first elected undersheriff of Arapahoe County, CO.  Though his family remains deeply influenced by agriculture and the cowboy way of life, Clint chose a different path for his future.  Beginning in 1992, He worked for multiple front range outfitters guiding the South Platte and its tributaries.  Over the next 10 years as a full-time guide in the summer months, Clint developed lasting relationships with many of his clients that still exist today.

Prior to graduation from High School, Clint was recruited by a private equity group in South Carolina to help manage and operate their flyfishing operations that consisted of two fly shops and one lodge.  Immediately after graduation, he moved to South Carolina to pursue this opportunity. After a year of successful growth and management with this group, Clint returned to his home state of Colorado to open two corporate-owned stores for Orvis.  Both stores had company-wide recognized success under the management of Clint and his teams.  In 2003, Clint left Orvis to guide full time an begin the venture that remains today; protecting and restoring western rivers.

Over the last 20 years, Clint has owned, operated and sold a multitude of flyfishing retail stores, outfitting services and other outdoor focused businesses.  Clint is able to find innovative “light touch” ways of generating recreational revenue and has set up numerous fishing clubs and commercial use properties and operations.  His skills maximize revenue and keep pressure limited so quality and ecological diversity remain high and intact.  Additionally, Clint owns multiple recreational and agricultural ranches totaling more than 2,200 acres in Colorado and Montana.  Over the last two decades, Clint has designed, permitted and built more fisheries projects than anyone in the history of the industry and has worked with the most prominent landowners and conservationists in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and New Mexico.  Clint maintains excellent relationships with countless private land stewards across the Rocky Mountain West.  His clients have grown to trust him and his opinion.  Clint is a long-time board member and prominent supporter of Colorado Trout Unlimited, is the co-founder of The Colorado Trout Foundation and the North Fork South Platte River foundation an currently sits on the boards of the Trout and Salmon Foundation and the advisory board of the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust.  In addition to these roles, Clint has personally founded and overseen the establishment of two separate river protection foundations in Colorado and remains significantly involved in the long-term rehabilitation of the North Fork of the South Platte River, the conservation and Protection of the South Platte River and the revitalization efforts of the Upper Colorado River and its Tributaries.
