Kevin Van Hine

Kevin has been working in the habitat restoration field for more than 8 years starting his career in upstate NY as a Wetland Scientist through a network of soil and water conservation departments. Kevin received a BS in Environmental Geoscience with a concentration in hydrology/water resources from the University at Buffalo. After moving to Colorado, Kevin worked for the United States Forest Service before joining the Freestone Aquatics team as a Director of Fishery Sciences. Kevin’s background and broad experience fits into Freestone’s goals of enhancing fishery and riparian habitat through a wide variety of habitat restoration projects in varying ecosystems. Kevin is skilled at managing projects throughout every phase including site selection, project planning/ design, heavy equipment operation, post construction monitoring, and project reporting. Blending project implementation with a technical science background, Kevin will be assisting Freestone in all areas of expertise. In his free time, Kevin enjoys all of the recreation potential Colorado has to offer including rafting, climbing, backpacking, dirt bike riding, mountain biking, and skiing.
